Last night Hunt hosted their Dr. Seuss themed family literacy night. The evening included photo ops, voting for the best class story board and plenty of Dr. Seuss themed activities.

Our Hunt staff loves Read Across America dress up week!

There’s something so special about getting comfortable with a good book and sharing a story with a friend. Mrs. Benavides’s 4th graders came and read to Mrs. Guillen’s 1st graders today for Read Across America Week.

Hunt students kicked off Read Across America week with a Rotary Read In. Newman Rotary members as well as High School ROTC members visited classrooms and read them a book. There’s something so comforting about sitting down and hearing a good story. Thank you to all the readers today!

The first week of competition has come to a close in the 2020 Footsteps2Brilliance Reading Madness Tournament. Congratulations to all those who advanced to the next round of competition and good luck to all our readers.

We are so lucky to have OHS and our Newman Rotary Club join us at Hunt today! They went into every classroom reading different books to all of our Hunt students. Students were very excited and asked a lot of questions about the book and our honorary readers.

Next week, March 2nd - March 6th, is Read Across America Week! Each day is a special dress up day and we will have fun literary events planned.

Congratulations to the students who qualified to attend the Trimester 2 Achievement Party at lunch today! Students qualified based on their hard work on one of our reading platforms: Footsteps2Brilliance, Lexia, Stride and Accelerated Reader. We are so proud of them, and you could tell they were very proud of themselves as well!

Hunt is getting ready for a fantastic celebration of our students who have worked hard in meeting their goals for the Achievement Party!! Go Hunt Tigers!!

A look at TK-Kindergarten registration. Welcome to NCLUSD class of 2033! We are so excited to meet you.

It’s not too late to sign up! We have extended our due date to Wednesday, February 26th.
Please let your child’s teacher know, stop by the office, or call the office to let us know you will be in attendance for our Family Fun Night.
We can’t wait to see you there!

Parents would need your input as we begin to develop NCLUSD’s 2020-2021 Local Control and Accountability Plan(LCAP).
The LCAP is a three-year plan that describes the goals, actions, services, and expenditures to support positive student outcomes that address state and local priorities. The LCAP provides an opportunity for local educational agencies (LEAs) to share their stories of how, what, and why programs and services are selected to meet their local needs. We value your input so please complete the LCAP Parent Survey by March 6th.

At this time, the health risk to the general public in California from novel coronavirus remains low. As with any virus, especially during the flu season, there are a number of steps you can take to protect your health and those around you. The Newman-Crows Landing Unified School District is advising parents, as we always do, to not send your child to school if they are sick.

When we return from the long weekend NCLUSD will officially go live with our new electronic flyer delivery system Peachjar! This "electronic backpack" is going to allow parents/guardians to access important flyers without ever having to dig through a student's backpack again!
