School may be out, but meals are still going! Summer meals will continue at Von Renner and Barrington Monday-Friday through June 30! Meals are served from 11am-12pm. Weekend meals will be provided on Fridays. NCLUSD is proud to partner with the USDA and AG Link to provide Fresh Food Boxes to families. Boxes will be distributed each Friday, starting May 29 at Von Renner and Barrington from 11am-12pm. NCLUSD is committed to helping families through this difficule time. Boxes are available on a first-come, first-served basis to any family in the community. NCLUSD se enorgullece de asociarse con USDA y AG Link para proporcionar cajas de alimentos frescos a las familias. Las cajas se distribuirán cada viernes, a partir del 29 de mayo en Von Renner y Barrington de 11am-12pm. NCLUSD se compromete a ayudar a las families en este momento dificil. Please see the above schedule for Check-Out times by class. If you are not able to make it during your scheduled time, please let the Hunt office know (862-1020). The drive-through will be taking a break daily at 11pm to allow for lunch pickup and also to give staff a break from the 100+ degree weather. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you.

Did you know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month? As we go into this 3-day weekend, let's take some time for ourselves and make sure you squeeze in some "me" time. Hunter the Tiger and the NCLUSD mascots had a great time saying ‘Hello’ to our families during the lunch pick-up this week! Thank you, Hunter!!

Our school mascot, Hunter the Tiger, will be at Hurd Barrington Elementary during the lunch hour, this Thursday between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., and he will have a few friends with him!! Hunter and his friends will be waving to students and families as they drive through the pickup lanes for lunch. Please remember to practice physical distancing and remain in your vehicle. Hunter can send you air hugs from afar. If you are unable to see Hunter on Thursday, he will also be at Von Renner on Friday between 11 a.m. and 12p.m.

In the upcoming week, we will have the Hunt Parent Drop Off and Pick Up of Student Items. Please see the file below with the scheduled times and dates for your child. Please plan on arriving at the scheduled time. As always, safety is our first priority and we thank you for your support in the scheduling as well as with following safety guidelines.

The Star Polisher By Leah Becks "I have a great job in the universe of occupations. What do I do? I'm a star polisher. It's a very important job. If you want to know how important, just go out at night and look at the stars twinkling and sparkling. You see, I am a teacher. The stars are the children in my class. My job is to take them in - in whatever shape they come - and shine them and buff them, and then send them out to take their places as bright little twinkling beacons in the sky. They come into my room in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes they're bent, tarnished, dirty, crinkly and broken. Some stars are cuddly, soft, and sweet. Some stars are prickly and thorny. As I buff, polish, train, and teach my little stars, I tell them that the world cannot do without them. I tell them they can do anything they set their minds to do. I tell them they can be the brightest, shiniest stars in the sky, and that the world will be a better place because of them. Each night as I look at the sky, I'm reminded of my very important job and awesome responsibility. I go and get my soft buffing cloth and my little bottle of polish in preparation for tomorrow and for my class of little stars." Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
