Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

On behalf of the staff at Hunt Elementary School we would like to WELCOME you to a new school year!  For most of you, Hunt Elementary School is the beginning of your child(ren)’s education.  Our staff is thrilled to be building the educational foundation upon which your children grow.  Hunt is a happy, welcoming school in which your children will be nurtured as they embark on their academic, social, and personal success.  We welcome you as partners in your children’s learning and hope you will be a familiar face at Hunt.

As I begin my first school year as Principal of Hunt Elementary School, I am energized and deeply committed to making a positive difference in the lives of your children.  We will accomplish this by ensuring:

  • the best education possible,
  • a safe, supportive, challenging and meaningful learning environment,
  • decisions are made in each student’s best interest,
  • an open door policy in which I welcome everyone to call or drop by and visit me

Our school services grades TK-5.  Our staff is talented and specifically trained at the early intervention and primary level.  Best practices are implemented as we ensure that your children receive both the social and academic curricula.

In addition to creating a welcoming, thriving community for the students, we are fully transitioned to the Common Core State Standards to educate your children.  The CCSS define what all students are expected to know and be able to do.  Hunt teachers and administrators have begun to assume responsibility of implementing the Common Core.  We will continue to work collaboratively to implement these standards by creating and implementing skill-specific lessons, and using cutting-edge materials and assessments to monitor student progress.  Our staff will be focusing on ensuring that a climate of professional learning is maintained, as we believe that it is best practice to be life-long learners.

Your child is our top priority and we look forward to continuing to work together.  Please remember to encourage your child to read at home.  By modeling good reading habits and getting excited about what you are reading and learning, your child will be sure to follow.

We value your presence during all school events and hope to provide a variety of opportunities to help us connect with your child and family.  Educational research shows that one of the most important characteristics of an effective school is building a strong home-school relationship.  Hunt Elementary welcomes your involvement and seeks to create a strong-home-school relationship

Have a terrific year!!

Sincerely,

Lupe Robles
